About

Born in Bethesda, Maryland on February 20, 1969, Christopher Turk is a Los Angeles based, practicing
artist who studied ceramics and received an MFA from California State University, Northridge in 1999. Turk has been teaching at East Los Angeles College since
2001, where he is Professor of Art, Ceramics. He has participated in numerous group and solo shows.

Turk exploits the inherent natural beauty of clay and
the ceramic processes as a vehicle for metaphoric expression.  His work is grounded in the fundamental understanding that clay is a readily accessible medium through which both simple functional beauty and profound expression coalesce, carrying on one of humanity’s most beautiful and reflective dialogues.
